Hindutva goons assaulted the Muslim women for decorating a colony in Indore city of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

eye witnesses told the media that the incident occurred after members of a Hindutva organization raised objections to the festive decorations that adorned Garib Nawaz Colony in honor of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and started removing the decorations put up in the area.

The Muslim community had illuminated their houses and streets with colourful lights, buntings and banners to express their love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH). However, this act of celebration was met with hostility by the Hindu extremists who vehemently objected to the display.

Tension started as the Hindu extremists attempted to forcibly remove the decorations, leading to a physical altercation between the Muslims and Hindus.

Reports said that the Muslim women were specifically targeted during the confrontation.

It is to mention here that Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) observed on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awal will be celebrated on Friday (September 29).
