The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for showing solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by observing the 5th August as Youm-e-Istehsal.

The APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani, in a statement issued in Srinagar said Pakistan’s continued support to the Kashmir cause and principled position on the Kashmir dispute has always been a source of encouragement for the Kashmiri people engaged in a just struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani said August 5, 2019 is a very painful and shameful day in the history of Kashmir when the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government humiliated the people of IIOJK by taking away all their fundamental rights and freedoms. He said that since that day, unspeakable atrocities are being committed on the innocent Kashmiris on a daily basis. He said that during this period, hundreds of people have been martyred, thousands have been lodged in remote jails in India while scores of others have been dismissed from government jobs to punish them for opposing Indian illegal occupation of their homeland.

The APHC leader deplored that all these brutal measures are aimed at suppressing the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom and effecting a demographic change in the occupied territory. However, he maintained that despite the worst Indian oppression and oppression, the Kashmiri people are determined to continue their struggle till they achieve their right to self-determination.

He appealed to the United Nations and world human rights organizations to play their role in ending the Indian brutalities in IIOJK and granting the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.
