APHC leaders have said that Indian Home Minister Amit Shah is not more than a criminal before the eyes of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement, APHC leaders said that Amit Shah’s visit to IIOJK is akin to rubbing salt in the wounds of the oppressed Kashmiris. The leaders said that the visits of brutal and oppressive Indian rulers to the occupied region have no meaning for freedom-loving Kashmiris. They pointed out the cruel and hypocritical Indian rulers, through holding international summits and conferences and arranging guided tours in the occupied territory, only want to show the international community that the situation in Kashmir is peaceful and the Kashmiris are happy with India. The Kashmiri people have nothing to do with the so-called summits and tours conducted under the cover of lacs of occupation troops, the leaders stressed, adding these summits and visits will not serve Modi regime’s designs to hoodwink the global community about the real situation in IIOJK. The APHC leaders maintained that it was Amit Shah who presented the resolution in the Indian parliament in August 2019 to repeal Articles 370 and 35A, and that it was on his orders that thousands of Kashmiris including Hurriyat leaders, activists, journalists, lawyers, scholars, teachers and human rights activists had been languishing in Indian jails. They also said the Indian forces’ personnel are killing innocent Kashmiri youth in fake encounters and notorious Indian agencies like National Investigation Agency, Enforcement Directorate, State Investigation Agency are snatching homes, lands and other properties of the Kashmiris on the instructions of Amit Shah. Because of all this, they added, Amit Shah is not more than a criminal before the people of the occupied territory. The leaders further said the only demand of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir is the withdrawal of the Indian army from their motherland and the holding of a free and fair referendum under the supervision of the United Nations, adding it is for this purpose that they have been offering unprecedented sacrifices for the last over seven decades. The APHC leaders emphasized that it was in the interests of India as well to shun its stubborn and rigid approach and give the Kashmiris their birth right to self-determination, which would prove beneficial not only for betterment of New Delhi itself but also for the whole south Asian region. Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Shubanul Muslimeen leader Mansoor Ahmad Dar in a statement in Srinagar also termed the Amit Shah’s upcoming visit as an attempt to mislead the international community.
